Advantages/Disadvantages of Homeopathy and Conventional Medicine?

I Need a balanced view of the advantages and disadvantages on both of these:
1) Homeopathy
2) Conventional Medicine.

homeopathy works. it just isn,t as well known, or documented as “regular” medicine. it gets a bad rap for this reason. it is also not well regulated, so it can be abused thru lack of knowledge and outside support. i use otc homeopathic meds. if i have a particular health issue, i see a physician or physicians assistant.
When you speak of conventional medicine, a patient has to heal from the illness AND from the drugs. A lot of people are so ignorant(not an insult) to the fact that our bodies were not designed to digest chemicals. Several organs have to work in tandem in order to digest the smallest molecule. The better side of conventional medicine is trauma and emergency care. Homeopathy and Traditional Medicine have no big disadvantages. They assist the body in doing what it needs to do. People think that herbs don’t work because they take so long to get a result, and that is only sometimes. Drugs force the body to do things that it would never do on its own and that it kill itself! These drugs stay logded deep inside the body.
Sorry if anyone is going through this stuff. But look at how cancer is treated. They basically put this poison into the body and kill off all the vital elements that helps fight the cancer in the first place. How can you fight cancer or any other disease if you are killing cells by the millions every Time a person receives treatment? They allow them to eat all kind of junk that make the problem worse. If people would take the time to think and take at least some responsibility for their own health, Americans wouldn’ t be so fat and stricken with high blood pressure, diabetes, immune depletion, depression, anxiety, ect!!!
Homeopathy advantage: holistic, it treats the whole person, non-invasive, no toxic effects, removes the cause of the health issue rather than just treating symptoms, does not have a suppressive effect on the body which can lead to future problems; safe, gentle, effective. Inexpensive. In an acute situation (sports injury, sudden onset cold/flu-type illness) results can be obtained in minutes. Cures the underlying cause so that problem does not return.
Disadvantage: in chronic cases it can take some time to achieve desired result (cure).
Conventional medicine advantage: best for emergency life support in a catastrophic accident eg. broken bones need to be reset, usually with the assistance of x-rays for diagnostics.
Disadvantage: relies on drugs that have negative toxic effects/do not work the same for everyone; multiple drug interactions largely unknown; expensive; surgery is invasive and does tissue damage; not holistic/treats one symptom at a time through suppression. Does not cure the underlying cause, so problem can return and necessitate using medication for life.
1. Homoeopathy
Advantage: It has no side effects, because it contains no active ingredients (and for the same reason it does not work either).
Disadvantage: It has never been demonstrated to work, and there is no rational reason to expect it to either.
2. Conventional medicine
Advantage: It’s functional therapy that has demonstrated evidence of efficacy and safety.
Disadvantage: There are the risks of side effects, however most people don’t experience major side effects and any side effects needs to be balanced with the benefits the drug provides.
You’re welcome.
one works and is evidence based, the other doesn’t and isn’t. JREF are offering $1M to anyone who can tell the difference between a homoeopathy medicine and plain water.
The big disadvantage with homeopathy is IT DOESN’T WORK.
The big advantage of conventional medicine is it does.
Homeopathy: Based on an old and now disproved belief. Science shows it is just water and nothing else. Hospitals don’t use it, doctors don’t use it and surgeons don’t use it, because it does not work. Very few places offer training in it, it is now dying out. Widely ridiculed as ‘quack’ medicine.
Conventional medicine: Proven time and again the world over. Used by all hospitals and all properly qualified doctors and surgeons in every country on the planet. Advanced medical care is the envy of many a developing country. People live longer and healthier lives than ever before due to advanced medical technology. Conventional medicine has obliterated anthrax, smallpox, bubonic plague, infections and other diseases that were the scourge of the world before it came along.
homeopathy does not have a reputation for abbreviating the lifespan of it’s users.
You have a false dilemma on your hands. Homeopathy is not medicine. It contains zero active ingredients. It is unable to perform better than placebo in proper robust, peer-reviewed, scientific testing. Basically, its baloney.
You are not comparing apples with apples.
Homeopathy has three main advantages, which exactly mirror the disadvantages of conventional medicine (ConMed).
First, it is entirely safe. Even if you are given the wrong remedy (one that does not match the symptoms of your illness) it will do you no harm. The opponents of homeopathy proved this recently when they carried out a ‘mass overdose’ on the homeopathic remedy, Belladonna. No-one was harmed!
In contrast, ConMed drugs have a long history of causing harm to patients. Again, this is not a controversial statement. A long series of drugs have been marketed, only to be withdrawn because they cause disease or death in patients. This is why many patients are now looking towards safer, and more effective medical.
Second, it is effective. However, for homeopathy to be effective the remedy has to be ‘similar’ to the symptoms of your illness, which is why you need to consult with a registered homeopath, especially if the condition is serious.
One of your responders has said that ConMed is effective. Drugs may appear to be effective, but the effect is often temporary, and long-term consumption of ConMed drugs increases your risk of their ‘side-effects’ – which can often mean serious disease. During the last 60+ years, pharmaceutical drug consumption has increased enormously, and this has been match almost in mirror image by the increase in chronic diseases of all kinds.
Third, it is an inexpensive therapy. You pay just for the time of the homeopath, with the remedies themselves being quite inexpensive, certainly in comparison to ConMed drugs.
My advice would be to consult with a registered homeopath, ask for a preliminary chat (some homeopaths will do this free of charge), and give it a go. You cannot harm yourself. And it can provide the most spectacular results, and it has done for me in the past.
Homeopathy will help you regain health in a natural gentle way. Drugs will only mask symptoms and give you side effects.
conventional meds bandaid symptoms and do nought to address the cause of the health problem … but do a fine job of creating a mess of other symptoms that they conveniently have another pill for.
homeopathy works synergistically with your body as a whole to gently nuture and heal and rebalance your system.
conventional meds contain toxicsludgesheet chemicals ……. that people conveniently don’t have access to the long term side effects of.
bless.
