yes i have had and yes i use coventional pxil my drug of choice
but you can try st johns wort and valerian root and dont do caffene or sweets
My brother has them, he gets nauseated, Chest pains, and his heart rate goes through the roof. I dont know of any cures, he currently takes like 5 meds and none have fixed the problem.
Its sucks but treating it with medicine is NOT right it just causes your mind to go numb, but it hurts ALOT. Not pysiccly but mentally.
Natural medicine works to a point but its best to ask jesus to heal you and MEAN IT and it will be healed
I have. tight chest..hard time breathing,sweating,shaking
I do have anxiety once in a while, but it’s always when I can’t figure out something, like I get freaked out if I get lost on the express ways. What happens is my heart races, my hands go numb, I hear ringing in my ears, and sweat, I can’t control it until I figure out the problem then it goes away, but I do tell myself breath deeply and I try to control my air flow slowly and that seems to help sometimes.
have only used alprazolam(xanax) for attacks and it seems to work well.st.johns wort is mainly used for mood enhancements
Having an anxiety attack can feel like having a heart attack. You have palpitations, racing pulse, chest pain, tingling in fingers, sometimes pain and numbness in arms. You feel dizzy and lightheaded with difficulty breathing. It is not a pleasant experience; but you can learn to control them once you know what they are, then you do not need to get anxiety over your anxiety attacks. A quick fix at the time of an anxiety attack is to breath into a paper bag to get your breathing back to normal and then your body symptoms will follow. Once you realize you are prone to anxiety attacks, you need to get on a relaxation and exercise program that will keep them at bay. Yoga of course is an excellent breathing and relaxation technique. Swimming is a good calming exercise. Jogging, running, walking or aerobics; anything that you enjoy doing is the best way to fight anxiety and will also build confidence. You might want to consider getting into the practice of meditation. Definitely talking to someone you trust or counseling would be beneficial. However, sometimes anxiety can be what is termed as free floating anxiety where nothing particularly stressful is going on in your life and you can’t seem to pinpoint exactly what is causing your anxiety attacks. That’s why the stress reduction exercises are so important.
It usually feels like you can’t get enough air…that you have to get outside….that your heart is pounding in your chest…sweaty…and even as though, you might be having a heart attack! You’re scared to death and don’t know why…you think you’re dying…but you’re not. It’s very uncomfortable! Without medicine, it can be treated by using relaxation techniques, yoga, a walk, soft music…and then there is always MEDICINE which is usually very quickly effective and can be used no matter where you are or what you are doing! Good luck!

When i used to get anxiety attacks I felt really ugly inside. my chest would burn, my stomach would hurt, my thoughts were bad. i felt like was was going crazy. It was like an ugly guilty feeling and scared feeling. it was a nightmare for me.
I am going through depression at the moment and one of the key side effect for me is anxiety attacks. They are the most horrible thing to go through and at first i didn’t know what they where and i thought i was going crazy because it felt as though i was waiting for something REALLY REALLY bad to happen.
I was actually in class once when i had one and i thought that something was going to happen to me and that i had to run away so i ran out of the room crying and shivering. My chest was hurting and it felt like my heart was literally banging up against my ribs and hurt like hell. When i was found i was in a corner all dizy and light headed and couldn’t walk and i was still looking over my shoulders… i just couldn’t sit still.
The best way to help them go away and for you to settle down is to first realise that you are indeed just having an anxiety attack and there is not anything bad going to happen to you. The next step is to focus on your breathing to clam yourself down. The following is the best formular for this:
1- Make sure you are sitting up straight with your feet flat on the floor (or be lying down)
2- Slowly breathe in for three seconds
3- Hold this breath for three seconds
4- Release your breathe slowly in three seconds
5- Repeat until your breathing and heart rate is back to normal.
That is the best and it usually works, closing your eyes also helps because there is nothing to distract you from your breathing exersises.
I am currently taking anti-depressants so that in itself slows down my thinking and makes my anxiety attacks less common (i was at one point having them once or twice a week) and so now they are rarer which is fantastic!
Trust me when i say that the breathing exersises work because i have had heaps of practice, you just have to learn to focus.
Good Luck and i hope you get better!!
yup…the first tiem i had one i thought i was having a heart attack and that i was going to die, i was afraid to go to sleep..i have been on medicine to control them but….when i went off medicine i started having problems with anxiety again…i think that pills should be a temporary fix..something that you dont plan on using indefinately.
but! what most people do not admit to is there is some reason why you are having panic/anxiety..it means that mentally subconsciously your body is telling you something. somethign is not right with your life, your not dealing with things the way you need to..you have to much stress, etc. you need to figure out what you need to change because pills wont make it go away…i mean, it will..but if you ever want to get off them you will have to deal with them at a later date.
