they can be, buy a book on herbs though,,,and educate yourself on them. Some can be extremely poisonous.
yes herbs are very effective, i would suggest going into a whole foods, if they have them in your area, and ask to speek to someone in that department..
Its a different approach to western medicine.. but a lot of people would swear by it, even saying it goes as far as curing cancer.. look up chinese herbs or eastern medicine on yahoo and google you will find a site that gives you the name of herb, and uses for the herb..

i have been taking herbal medicines all of my life,all of my family has.my grandmother will be 100 in three months and my auntie is 86 and has a daughters who are 26 and 24.i don’t know which medicines(herbs) you are asking about or i could answer your question better.and of course the medical community wants you to believe that herbal medicines are bad,they are practically free if you know how to gather them your self.hope this was of some help to you.
