Are you happy with the era in which you were born?

I’d like to have seen the hippy movement & the swinging sixties, or transport me back a short time before to the age where a gentleman was well spoken, didn’t leave the house without his hat & showed common courtesy to a lady. Even after the horrors of the world wars most appreciated life more & were content with less.

Although I wouldn’t choose to revisit the dark ages or conventional medicine & I’m thankful for my cpu to convey these thoughts. I just generally find this modern technology aged & ego crazed society to be lacking substance & in many ways just poisonous..

I don’t feel proud of my own generation & as for the one we’re spawning…well, only the future will tell.

Maybe I just need reminding of all the good things contrary happening in the world today…unfortunately I’m struggling to think of any.
I was born in 1982
I’ll be 27 at the end of July

I grew up in the sixties and early seventies,,,it really wasn’t all that it’s been made out to be.

I would have liked to be coming of age in the post war/early fifties period.

I was born in the 60s and grew up in the 70s and teenager in the 80s.. and i love the eras i have crossed with, with all different fashions and cultures..

Seeing peoples views and politics change and ideas and racism change and how tv programmes in the 70s were allowed to be racist and treat women as just sex objects to be ridiculed and watching them now and thinking how on earth did that ever get on tv…

I loved all the fashions and now they are coming back and hippy stuff my mates 13 year old and i are re living it all with all the fashions back, its fun, however im not wearing bright pink stuff..

if i had to choose an era to go back to and visit would be victorian times middle class.. as its always intrigued me and the costumes.
